I am a dark artist I would say and behind each piece there are several messages embedded, I also include a hidden humour into each piece, but sometimes that gets missed! I enjoy marvel and I would say I’m a nerd, I love skulls, people often recognise it as death but I think there is more to it than that.
I don’t know if I have a favourite piece as such but the red bull snail I made, ‘dream big’ was one of my first pieces and was also one of the pieces that put me on the map so that makes it special for me.
How would you describe your style?
My style is instantly recognisable, whilst each piece is different my medium of choice is resin and I often have something that’s gloopy and drippy within the piece. I also like to do geeky one offs but I like to work with resin as once you nail it (the mixture) it’s a good medium.
How long does it take you to make a piece?
It really varies, some skulls take a week, but other pieces take a few months. As a general my lead time is 2 months.
Have you had any celebrity clients?
I have actually had quite a few but my favourite was Keith Lemon, I was a guest on the tv show Fantastical Factory of Curious Crafts and he was really nice and not many people know this, but he is very good at art!
What is the weirdest commission you have made?
I recently made a piece which is a pigeon shitting out the word shit!
Who or what influences you?
I don’t have anyone in the art world as such who I would say is an influence, I would say tattoo artists however are a big inspiration to me, I love that scene, there is no room for error. I also really like the graffiti scene.
Do you have any advice you would give to your younger self?
Never give up, never stop grafting as you never know what is around the corner. Things happen when you least expect and even now, I keep this mentality.
