With a background in Fine Art as well as 3D Design and Craft, and experience working alongside one of the UK’s finest framers, TBOY has developed a meticulous eye for detail and a very precise degree of workmanship. He describes his current body of work as a combination of ‘post-graffiti’, 3D construction with a touch of the surreal.

TBOY explains the common use of currency in his work as an endeavour to create something beautiful from something inherently ugly, divisive and destructive. He is motivated by the destruction and recycling of currency to create work of greater value or desirability than the original banknote. And, after-all, if Pop Art has its foundations in consumerism, nothing visually says consumer more clearly than cash.

Despite having a considered theoretical underpinning to his artwork, TBOY is dedicated to producing work in which we don’t always look too hard for a message, work in which we can appreciate the time and effort involved and which can ‘simply be enjoyable’.
