My name is Francisco de Pájaro (1970), Zafra (Spain). I began to draw and paint with dedication from 1990 onwards in my hometown, as well as working in all kinds of odd jobs in the labor system. In 1993 i entered the Applied Arts School of Mérida (Badajoz). I decided to abandon the studies after only a year and a half. Went back to my hometown, became co-founder of Rotuletto. A company dedicated to signage, posters and decorative paintings. In the year 2,002 I left everything and left to live in London and devote myself to art completely but i fail to adapt to the UK.
I travel to Barcelona for the first time at the end of 2.003 and decide to stay in Condal. To survive work in an endless number of precarious jobs. In the middle of 2009 I decide to go out for the first time to the streets of Barcelona to paint in the garbage due to an accumulation of negative circumstances: The economic scam in Spain, the precariousness of work, the prohibition to express oneself in the street with freedom, the negativity of art galleries in exposing my paintings and finally; My frustration as an artist. All these disappointments eventually become like a time bomb in a spontenous way i decide on the name: "El Arte es Basura - Art Is Trash".
"El Arte es Basura - Art Is Trash" - It is an anti-hero costume that serves for the action of painting on abandoned objects in the street to criticize with freedom everything that generates aversion and disturbs me. Everything I do on the street is radically SPONTANEOUS, accidental and instinctive. All my inspiration is based on my state of mind. The intention is to paint quickly and without academic technicalities to leave a simple and clear message to the citizen.
¨ I come from working very hard in the garbage of the labor system, and in art, nobody has given me anything. Now living from art is my prize¨
¨ I paint by instinct, spontaneous and visceral, assuming all the positive and negative consequences that this way of doing it entails ¨
¨ Painting and sculpture is the mother of all the arts, it is a tool of revolutionary war. I declare myself a rabid warrior who dreams of a better world ¨
